Sophie Nicholls is one of the UK’s leading hypnotherapists.
She is a Clinical Hypnotherapist and EFT practitioner, registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register and guided by its Code of Ethics and its high standards of supervision and continuing professional development.
She is also the author of Hypnotic Journaling and runs trainings in using creative writing as a personal development tool for health care professionals and the general public.
Sophie first began to explore ways of helping people to develop personally and professionally whilst working as a training consultant for Reuters, the international news agency.
Sophie has a particular interest in the treatment of stress, anxiety, depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), having specialised in working in this area for over five years. She also has particular expertise in working with body-image problems and eating disorders.
Sophie has helped to pioneer research into creative writing as a tool for health and personal development, and her work with the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture has been featured in the national media.
OK, so that’s the official bit over…
The most important thing to say here is that I love my work and I love helping people to make changes in their lives. In addition to hypnosis, which is my main tool, I also use EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and other techniques and approaches drawn from my research in psychology, cognitive science and the field of personal development. I am constantly seeking out new skills and strategies to share.
I have worked with literally hundreds of clients over the last few years and I have trained, hung out with and been mentored by all kinds of wonderful people in the fields of hypnosis and personal development including Stephen Brooks and Stephen Gilligan, Michael Neill, Adam Eason, Celia Hunt, Mark Tyrrell, Jill Wootton, and my original teacher and good friend, Steve Burgess. These people remain some of the major influences on my work. (A surprising number of them are called Stephen.)
I do also like to walk my talk: quite literally, as a keen power-walker (competing in marathons such as the Edinburgh Moonwalk with my sister, Verity) and continuing to develop my own creativity as a published poet.
If you’d like to find out more about the way I work, please do come over to my Personal Consultation pages here. Thank you.
