You Can Have the Weight and Shape You Want

Do you feel trapped in a cycle of endless thinking about what foods you are ‘allowed’ to eat, or calorie intake, or pounds lost and pounds gained?

If so, then you’ll know that this is a way to make yourself very unhappy.

And life should be about so much more than that!

Why ‘diet thinking’ doesn’t work:

If I said to you: ‘Try your best not to think about the pink elephant,’ what are you seeing in your mind’s eye, right now? An image of a pink elephant, by any chance?

And, in the same way, if we read the latest diet book, or sign-up for some diet or eating plan or weight loss support group, what happens? Well, we get a list of foods we’re allowed to eat and a list of foods we’re forbidden to eat; or maybe a list of foods we can eat only in certain combinations.

What’s more, we get a whole new identity as someone who is trying to lose weight (the word ‘trying’ here implies – hypnotically – that we’re bound to fail); or ‘watching’ our weight ( meaning that we must keep our eye on it at all times and, if we stop watching for even a few moments we’re going to balloon in size almost immediately…

Is it any wonder that we begin to feel exhausted and, quite frankly, either bored or incredibly anxious about this all-consuming project?

My approach to weight loss works differently. It works from the inside out. It recognises that the most important element in being the best you can be is freedom -  freedom from endlessly thinking about food or obsessing about pounds or kilos.

My You Can Have the Weight and Shape You Want programme is about getting back in touch with who you are on the inside: the real you. It’s about helping you to let go of any emotional associations you may have around food  – perhaps hurtful memories or the way that you’ve learned to talk to yourself over the years or simply habits you’ve developed that may be holding you back from being the person you really want to be.

This approach will enable so many other things in your life to begin to feel so much more important. You will feel calm, more energised, healthier and more motivated. You’ll be free to really enjoy your body and your life. You’ll find that the calories and pounds will look after themselves.
