New year, same resolution? Time for some hypnotic help.
According to this article at The Mirror.co.uk, Cameron Diaz has ‘the same three resolutions every year’ which are to: ’stop smoking, start wearing a bra and stop shopping.’
OK, so as I wrote last week in my article about New Year’s Resolutions, there is a big difference between making resolutions and making something happen in your life. Besides, she is boasting a little, isn’t she? Start wearing a bra? C’mon, Cameron…
The writers at The Mirror don’t think she is taking the matter of Resolutions very seriously.
But she has a point, doesn’t she?
If reslutions are simply things that we say to ourselves knowing that we are never really going to follow through, then we’d be better off not bothering. That way, we can avoid the sense of inevitability and disappointment that comes when the chnages don’t magically happen for us.
However, I know that there are many people out there who are really very serious about using the New Year as an opportunity to turn things around in their lives. I know because they have been emailing me and calling me to ask for my help and support. Good for them! I applaud you all!
And Rhonda Abrams in USA Today is making New Year’s Resolutions for her business. What an excellent idea. She says that New Year offers us all an opportunity to ‘reboot’ and her business resolutions include: ‘Listen more,’ ‘Be brave,’ ‘Grow,’ and ‘Clean Out My Email Inbox.’
I also have a resolution that I want to share with you. All my travelling before Christmas and the eating and drinking and spending time away with family over the festive season means that I have put on a few pounds and let my fitness slide. So I am using the next few months to really get in the best shape ever and full of energy. Yes! And I am going to have fun doing it.
Bring on 2009! And if you have a change to make, then do join me!
