Sophie talks about having a good cry on BBC Radio WM
This morning, I joined the lovely people at Phil Upton @ Breakfast on BBC Radio WM. Phil and his producer, Tim, were discussing last night’s Oscars awards ceremony and talking about crying and whether having a good cry is good for you.
Over recent years, the Oscars have become infamous for public outbursts of emotion from celebrities. This gambling site was even taking bets on Kate Winslet winning and crying during her acceptance speech.
You can listen to the interview snippet here:

(I sound a bit like a British Rail announcer because I woke up with flu and couldn’t make it into the BBC studios so I had to do the interview over the phone. Self-hypnosis and a good gargle – I recommend it.)
So what do you think? Is having a good cry good for you? In what situations does crying produce a helpful release of stress and emotion? And when is it just inconvenient or annoying?
